Why lemon juice?
We all know that lemons are citrusy and are a rich source of vitamin C. Thus it can be used for its natural bleaching properties. It will help in- to lighten dark spots, clear your skin from acne and acne spots, control oil (if you have oily skin). Your skin will brighten up making it look clear, smooth and flawless. Will also help you achieve youthful glow! I suggest you create a fresh mask for every time. Now let’s check out the solutions!
Lemon juice & water
Take a container and squeeze the juice from half cut lemon and add few drops of water. Apply this solution on your face. You can use a face pack brush or a cotton ball. Keep it for 20 minutes.
Lemon juice & potato juice
Potato contains starch and sugar along with minerals, which accelerate collagen production in your skin. If you have acne scars it will help in healing them. You would need to prepare potato juice first using a blender or juicer. Then squeeze the juice from one lemon and mix it with potato juice. The solution should be in 50/50. Now apply this on your face every day for 20 minutes.
Lemon juice & baking soda
Baking soda is gently abrasive in nature. It contains bleaching and lightening properties. You will need 3 spoons of lemon juice and 1 spoon of baking soda. Mix it well and apply this paste on your face. Let it stay for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes massage your face for a minute or two. This will help in exfoliating dead skin.
Lemon juice & yogurt
Yoghurt contains lactic acid which helps with skin renewal. It also helps to moisturize your skin. It will make your skin brighter and spot-free! Take 2 spoons of lemon juice and mix it with 1 spoon of yogurt. Apply this mask on your face and let it stay for 20 minutes.
Lemon juice & aloe vera
Aloe vera contains many essential vitamins and has hydrating and depigmentation properties. If you have acne prone skin then this solution will also help to keep your acne in control. Mix 2 spoons of lemon juice with 2 spoons of aloe vera gel (from the plant). Apply this on your face and keep it for 20 minutes.
Lemon juice & banana
Banana contains lightening properties. It also makes skin soft and supple. Mash a banana and mix 3 spoons of lemon juice in it. Apply this paste on your face and keep it for 20 minutes.
Key points to remember
- Which ever remedy you choose to follow, use every day for 20 days at least. After that, you can limit the usage to once or twice a week.
- While applying the mask, concentrate more on the dark spots.
- For first timers, it will sting a bit because of lemon juice which is normal. So don’t panic. It will subside from the second usage.
- Rinse off the mask with normal water only. Do not use soap or face wash for a few hours.
- Since you are using lemon juice on your skin, it will increase sun sensitivity. So make sure that you avoid direct sunlight and wear sun block every time!
