Hello everyone! 😀 Today’s review is on Lacto Calamine Skin Balance Lotion Oil Control, which claims to have Triaction formula- absorbs excessive oil and gives you a problem free clear skin everyday. Wow…! So, does it stay true to its claims? Well, we all know the benefits of Calamine lotion, which are- it helps sooth allergies, rashes and acne! Hop in to know how this lotion worked on my acne prone skin!
My Experience With Lacto Calamine Skin Balance Lotion Oil Control
The packaging is very simple and basic. It comes in an opaque white colored plastic bottle with my favourite lavender colored screw cap. All the important labels are mentioned on the bottle. I wish it was a pump or a tube packaging, than just a bottle. As it becomes quite difficult for me to dispense the product and also seems unhygienic. This is my only complain regarding this lotion- its packaging! But due to its size and spillage-free cap it is travel friendly. 🙂
Before using the product, I shake the bottle well and when I open the screw cap, I can see some of the product inside the cap. As very little of the product is required for usage I take the product from the cap only. I know it still sounds unhygienic but I always make sure that my hands are clean prior to applying anything on my face. 😛
The lotion is pale pink in color and thick in texture. I am glad that the consistency is runny as it becomes easy to dispense the product from the mouth of the bottle. The smell is not too strong. It is typical Calamine scent which does not bother me at all. In fact, I like it! But it might bother some sensitive noses. Anyways the fragrance doesn’t stay after application.
I have been using this lotion since Winter and in love with it! (The bottle still lasts!) Before I used this lotion only as a primer as it contains Glycerin. And this lotion does an excellent work as a primer! I only require tiny amount of this lotion to apply on my entire face. It smoothly spreads on my combination and acne prone skin. Yes, it does help to control skin’s oil! During Winter it helped to keep oil in control for at least 5 hours. And now in Summer, it is helping to control oil and shine for at least 4 hours.
This is a water based lotion and works excellent on oily and combination skin type. I bet that people with super oily skin will love it too! The lotion sets into matte finish, in spite of the matte finish my face always looks hydrated and healthy with it. And it also instantly brightens up my medium fair toned skin. So whenever my face looks dull I apply this lotion and my face appears glowy instantly! Hence, it can also be a perfect day cream. People who don’t wear makeup can apply only this and they are good for the day! 🙂
Now I have been using this as both a moisturiser and a primer. It smoothens out dry patches and flakiness and creates a smooth canvas for makeup.
The lotion is alcohol free, non greasy and feels very light on the skin. Some people complain that it leaves whitish cast on their face. I have not experienced anything such. And I also use this Calamine lotion in tiny-miny amounts. However, if you are of a deeper skin tone, I would suggest you to use the lotion sparingly. 🙂
Coming to the acne part- it does help in keeping acne in control, but doesn’t completely prevent them from coming back. But people with acne prone skin will surely see it making a difference to their skin!

Besides the packaging I don’t have any other complain. Lacto Calamine Skin Balance Lotion Oil Control is a 3-in-1 product: not only it moisturises skin but also controls oil for a very long period, works as a primer and keeps acne in control! I would like to recommend this lotion to people with super oily, oily and combination skin.
