I like to take some amount of the shampoo in a mug and then take some water and mix it to form good amount of lather. Then I use this solution by pouring on my scalp little by little then massage it well to clean scalp. Later, I rinse it off, following a conditioner. My Experience With L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo:

I have been using this shampoo following my current conditioner, which is from Sunsilk. I know I needed to pair it with the same range conditioner. But since Sunsilk conditioner was still left un-finished, sitting in bathroom and staring at me every time I shampooed my hairs, I needed to finish it first! 😀

Packaging

It comes packed in an inverted hard plastic bottle with a flip cap, which is spillage free. Because of its huge size I can’t say that it’s travel friendly. As it would take up some space. But the same shampoo is also available in smaller size.

Color And Consistency

It is pure white in color and it is runny in consistency, similar to other shampoo products. The consistency is neither thick nor thin. And the shampoo mixes in well with water producing good amount of lather to clean scalp and hairs thoroughly.

Fragrance

It has a very pleasant strong fragrance, which stays in hairs for sometime post shampooing. But the fragrance is easily overpowered with other hair products if used, like conditioner. Otherwise the fragrance stays in hair for about two days.

Effectiveness Of L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo:

I have been using this shampoo for little over 3 months. And as I mentioned that my hairs are dry and frizzy, I wanted to switch my old shampoo to the one which keeps my hair frizz in control. And because winters were near, I needed a good shampoo ASAP! Since the day I started using this shampoo I have been loving it so much!

My hair frizz have reduced to a great extent. I used to use a lot of heating tools, that also without heat protecting products. (Lesson learned!) Due that my hairs got damaged but now this shampoo is repairing all the damaged hairs. Also keep in mind that I do get my hairs trimmed occasionally. (After every 3-4 months.) And I do use conditioner and oil regularly. After using this shampoo regularly my hairs have been looking a lot more healthier. Yes, I do also suffer from bad hair day sometimes, that’s very common.

One surprising thing I have noticed is that, this shampoo also keeps dandruff in control! Not that I had a lot of dandruff issues. There were very few, hardly noticeably. And in winters due to dry scalp they would increase a little more. I credit this to Salicylic Acid, which is present in the shampoo. Not only it controls dandruff but also keeps breakouts on the scalp in control.

There is one good hair oil which I have also been using and that also helps in keeping frizz and flyovers in control. (I will be reviewing the hair oil soon. So stay tuned. And when the post is already out you will find the link Here.)

And it does reduce hair fall to some extent. You need to use it consistently to see the results. I do not have split ends and never had them. *Touch wood* So I can’t comment on: if it helps reducing split ends or not; or solves that issue or not. Overall, this is one of the best shampoos for damaged and frizzy hairs!

Pros Of L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo:
  • Contains salicylic acid.
  • Lathers well.
  • Cleans scalp and hairs thoroughly.
  • Easily washes off oil and other hair products in one usage.
  • Repairs damaged hairs.
  • Controls frizz and dry hairs.
  • Reduces hair fall.
  • Controls dull and rough hairs.
  • Has a very pleasant smell.
  • Makes hair shiny with consistent usage.
Cons Of L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo:

I found none, besides little expensive compared to other shampoos!

Rating:4.7/5

I would highly recommend this shampoo to people who have frizzy hairs. But don’t expect too much from just a shampoo and don’t skip other hair care routine like conditioning and oiling.

    1. Thanks Divya! 🙂
This shampoo is good for hairs. But currently I am trying out other shampoo.
And yes, you do need to use an hair oil. I use Bajaj Almond Drops (as hair oil and also as leave-in conditioner) I have done a review on it. In that post you can check out my hair photos! 🙂

    1. Hey Jaise! 🙂
My hairs look lifeless and dull too at times! But I have been loving Bajaj Almond drops oil, using it as a leave-in conditioner. I have done a post on it. (You will find photos of my hairs.)
Also I would suggest you to go for deep conditioning once in a while!
