Back again with another DIY face mask! I hope you are enjoying these DIY posts and also achieving good results after using them regularly. Today I am sharing a quick recipe on homemade besan face pack. You only need 3 ingredients to make this mask, two which you have already guessed! Normal, oily or dry no matter what your skin type is, you can use it. This is a face mask cum scrub which means that you can either use it as a mask or scrub or even both! Your choice! Without further ado, let’s get started!

Besan Haldi Face Pack for All Skin Types + Benefits

  1. Besan Flour
  2. Turmeric powder
  3. Aloe vera gel

In a bowl add:- 2 teaspoons besan or gram flour, 1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder. To form a paste initially add 2 teaspoons of purified water. After mixing add 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel and mix well.

The consistency should not be very runny so it doesn’t drop on your top when you are applying it on your face. Neither the consistency should be very thick so it doesn’t dry out when you store it in the refrigerator.

The bright yellow color that you see is due to turmeric powder. Don’t worry it won’t leave any stains on your face or on your face towel! Because we are adding 1/4th of the teaspoon of it.

While mixing make sure that there are no lumps. I have mixed going in clockwise motion using the back of the spoon to break the lumps.

Direction of Use

You can use either your fingertips or the back of the spoon or a face pack brush to apply this besan haldi mask. Keep it for 10 minutes then wash off with normal water.

While rinsing gently massage your skin to scrub off the dead skin cells. My skin is super oily so I can use this every day. But if you have normal or dry skin you can use this pack twice in a week. (My skin loves a good mask every day! This is something which I personally like to do. You do what works best for you!)

Besan Benefits for Skin

(Okay I promise not to bore you with terms you won’t even remember later. Rather I will write it down in simple words! πŸ˜› )

I remember using besan and water as my very first face mask during my teenage years. It was suggested to me by one of my friend’s mom who swore that it helped with her acne situation when she was young. After using this it instantly became my fave DIY mask at that time. (It still is! But with turmeric and aloe gel added to it.)

So basically besan or gram flour is a powerful ingredient on its own to tackle skin problems like pimples, and pigmentation. It also doubles up as a good facial scrub to get rid of accumulated dead skin cells. I added turmeric powder to make skin glowy and aloe vera gel to aid in any skin inflammation. Another reason for adding turmeric powder is that it masks the smell of gram flour which some may not like.

This face pack can be used if you have one or more of these conditions – super oily skin, pimples, pimple marks, dark spots, flaky skin, tan, dullness, and pigmentation. I have super sensitive and super oily skin which is also pimple prone. So I can assure you that this pack contains ingredients which will not irritate sensitive skin.

If you were looking for an all-in-one face pack for daily use or for besan face pack for daily use then this is it!

Note: My skin is oily, acne prone and sensitive. I haven’t observed any irritation after using this. So I can safely recommend it for you all to try. But still, to be on a safer side I suggest doing a patch test beforehand.

Also Note: Please don’t make any DIY in huge quantity. For any DIY try to finish it within 10 to 15 days.

Final Note

After my Plum green tea mask got over I have been using this besan pack for face. This is quick and easy to make meaning you don’t need to make any preparation beforehand. Just three ingredients from your kitchen and you are done! Let me know if you have used this mask before or which is your favorite DIY face mask? πŸ™‚

Turmeric has so many uses it’s crazy. I’ve actually been putting a sprinkle in my coffee each morning. It’s definitely an acquired taste. Kind of like pepper to me. I would have never imagined its use in a mask but it makes sense. I would also assume that since turmeric helps with inflammation perhaps it would help with puffy skin. I’m not an expert but possibly??

  21. Debra Roberts says:

You have the neatest DIY’s for skin I’ve ever read about! I was playing around yesterday with my expresso leftover grounds and made a body scrub! I had been tossing them in my garden, but thought, wait, surely these must have some body benefits!
