Coffee I believe is almost everyone’s favorite. Though coffee is often counted as a beverage but did you know that you can use coffee directly on your skin as well? There are many coffee skin care products coming out in the market which are damn pricey! And not to forget the chemicals and preservatives which do not suit sensitive skin. So I thought of curating my own coffee mask for my sensitive and acne prone skin. It is damn cheap but priceless! As the ingredients used in this mask can be reused in other DIYs as well and it is far cheaper than the products available in the market. So why not give it a try? Anyways, I feel if you are a coffee lover like me then you will definitely give this DIY coffee mask a try. (And be amazed by the results!) In this post, we will learn about the benefits of coffee for face and how you can make your own homemade coffee face mask to achieve clear skin!

In a bowl add- 3 teaspoons of coffee powder, 1 teaspoon gram flour, 3 teaspoons honey, 2 teaspoons aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon lemon juice (Skip if you have sensitive skin!), and few drops of lavender essential oil or your favorite essential oil for fragrance.

I have skipped lemon juice as I have sensitive skin. The coffee fragrance might be too strong for some people so I recommend adding your choice of essential oil to this pack. (I love coffee and its fragrance so it did not bother me but it might be too intense for some people!)

Mix it well, until it is runny and gooey in consistency. Use a face pack brush to evenly apply on your face. Wash off the face pack after 15 minutes. This pack stains face towel because of the ingredient coffee in it, so rinse off with lukewarm water. Follow up with a face mist or a light moisturizer of your choice.

You can apply this face pack every day in the late evening. You will be surprised how just within a few uses you can see clearer and brighter skin!

Cover the bowl and store it in the refrigerator for later usage. This easily lasts for up to 12 to 15 uses! Therefore create a fresh batch after every 15 to 20 days. (This applies to any DIY face pack/mask!)

  13. Grace Esedeke | Today Was Fab says:

I have heard about this before. But never tried it because I’m always worried about how it will react to my skin. My face reacts to everything. Aleo vera itches badly the moment it touches my face, lemon etc. Right now, I have multiple reactions on my face (acne, rash and some other things I don’t know) and it’s hard to tell where these are all coming from since I have stopped using beauty products. I did a cinnamon face mask and I loved how it felt but I couldn’t continue with it. I love Coffee and I should try this soon. Can one do without the Gram flour? I’m not sure I’ll find that where I live.

    • Snehal says:

Lemon does not suit my sensitive skin either. Gram flour also helps with acne. It is basically chickpea powder. Just look around if you can find it. Or you can add some clay powder to the face pack. 🙂
