So, let’s jump straight into the tutorial, shall we?

Things you’ll need-

  • Distilled water.
  • Aloe vera gel. (I have used Patanjali aloe vera gel. You can get it From Here.)
  • Green tea. (I have prepared Green Tea using Girnar green tea bags. You can get it From Here.)
  • Empty spray bottle.

Steps to prepare this simple DIY makeup setting spray

Fill 3/4th of the spray bottle with purified water. But first, make sure that the spray bottle is clean for usage.

Now fill the rest of the spray bottle with aloe vera gel. You can add the aloe vera gel directly into the spray bottle. Add the aloe vera gel in such a way that a part of the bottle is left to add green tea later. Using aloe vera gel in your makeup remover will hydrate your skin and refresh your mood. It will also help prevent makeup from creasing and melting. And will add a subtle healthy glow to your skin.

Now to this, I have added 2 pumps of green tea using a dropper. Ā If the spray bottle is bigger in size, you can add 3-4 pumps. Green tea will help in reducing the ability of your makeup to oxidize. Hence, green tea properties include both added benefits for skin care and makeup.

Give this solution a good shake and you are ready to use! Easy-peasy, right? I have been storing this in the fridge to increase its shelf life. And in the end, I stuck a sticky note with ‘makeup setting spray’ written on it. This is of course optional.

How to use this DIY makeup setting spray

Since I do makeup on a daily basis, I have been using this spray daily too! It works well with both everyday makeup looks as well as with occasional makeup looks. Since the spray bottle which I use is small, while spraying I keep it at an elbow’s reach and spritz it on my face directly. (After doing my makeup, of course!) If your bottle is bigger than mine then keep it at an arm’s length.

For instant refreshment and to hydrate my skin I also carry this along with me on my travels. My skin has been flaking from certain areas and this DIY makeup setting spray with aloe vera in it is really helping in controlling the skin flakes.

Final words

This DIY makeup setting spray is suitable for all skin types! It’s homemade and all natural. (Except for the readymade aloe vera gel, if used.) It does both the job perfectly, that is- skin care and making the makeup last longer! Make it, use it and share your experience with me! šŸ™‚
