Dove Dandruff Care Shampoo Review
This is that time of the year when I face dandruff issues. Well, dandruff begins anytime of the year for me. I usually face mild dandruff issues as both my scalp and hair are dry. A few months ago dandruff had spiked up. I could control it at that time. But now they are back again and stubborn than before! So, I thought that this would be the time that I try an anti-dandruff shampoo. It has been a while since I used Dove Dandruff Care Shampoo. (Well, more than a while, it has been a month!) I still freshly remember my experience with this shampoo and here is my review!
Dove Dandruff Care Shampoo Review
The shampoo comes packed in a standard Dove packaging. The white colored bottle looks all sturdy and has a flip open cap which opens easily. The shampoo itself is also white in color and contains a pleasant fragrance. All the important details are mentioned on the bottle. This shampoo does contain sulfate and other chemicals. But that wasn’t my main concern at that moment. My main concern was dandruff and my frizzy hair! Due to my frizzy hair, I mostly stay away from anti-dandruff shampoos as they make my hair more frizzy.
So, dandruff, plus, itchy scalp, plus, hair fall, were enough reasons for me to shop for an anti-dandruff shampoo. And my experience was amazing with the Dove conditioners that I have tried before. This is why I decided to try something from Dove shampoo range.
I remember when the first few times I shampooed, it gave me temporary relief from an itchy scalp. As far as dandruff goes, it washed off like about 25-30% of them. As it is an anti-dandruff shampoo, I was expecting a high percentage of clearance. Nevertheless, I still continued using it until the bottle was empty. I even asked my brother to try as he was also facing dandruff issues too. Disappointingly, both of our experiences were the same. And to top it off, I did notice my hair frizzier than before. So, now I am back to my previous decision again- never trying anti-dandruff shampoos!
So, how am I keeping my dandruff and itchy scalp in control?
As life has been getting busier, I am embarrassed to share this as a Beauty Blogger that I have been ignoring to oil my hair regularly for some past couple of weeks. But, I have continued following hair oiling routine again. And I am not surprised to feel my itchy scalp issues subsiding and with that my dandruff! So people, always try Gharelu Nuskhas (Home Remedies) before purchasing a product. (No, no, the oil which I use is not homemade oil. But I had this urge to use that line.) By the way, my current shampoo and hair oil is- St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Shampoo, Morpheme Remedies Advanced Therapy Hair Oil
Note– I may change my shampoo and hair oil in future. Of course, I will share my reviews on them here!

I didn’t like it
Dove Dandruff Care Shampoo seems fine for working on mild dandruff issues and normal hair. But I can not say the same for dry and frizzy hair. As far as my experience goes, it almost does nothing for major dandruff and itchy scalp issues. Also, it made my hair frizzier. Hence, I can not find myself coming to terms with their claims- “eliminates dandruff without drying your hair”.
