Men’s skin is known to be thicker than women’s. And due to male hormones and larger pores, your skin usually gets oily and sweaty easily. So keeping in mind about your skin, facial hair, laziness ( 😛 ) and of course the aging factor, I have come up suggesting a routine for you.

Shaving Gel

This, I am sure you already have! A good shaving gel/ cream is essential to ensure a smooth shaving experience. (Check Out!- Nivea Men Sensitive Shaving Gel) But along with this, I would suggest you use a good quality facial razor too. Post shaving a step important to follow is to end it using a good aftershave splash or aftershave balm. (Check Out!- Nivea Men Cooling Aftershave Lotion)

As you tend to get sweaty and oily easily it is important that you use a good exfoliating cleanser. Make sure you wash your face 3-4 times a day to keep it oil-free and spotless! (Check Out!- Nivea Men Dark Spot Reduction Face Wash)

I know many of you are ignoring this important step. (Boy, don’t get me started on why a sunblock is important!) You may not know how damaging are the sun rays on the skin. It can speed up your aging too! So better now you start using a sunblock. I suggest you pick a sunblock which not only protects your skin from the sun but at the same time provides hydrating properties too. Go for a matte and oil-free formula. Eye Cream

If you ignore using an eye cream now, then you will regret it later! No matter if you are in your 20s or 30s or more, include an eye cream in your routine. You only need a tiny amount of it and that also you have to apply at night. It will take care of the fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness! (Check Out!- Himalaya Herbals Under Eye Cream)

Weekly Mask

You may feel a little lazy and bored applying a face pack/mask weekly. But once you start following the routine, you will notice your skin feeling radiant and much better than before! There are a ton of face mask/packs available in the market. Choose one depending on how your skin is feeling- oily or dry. (Check Out!- Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Pack)

I got my husband to try a charcoal mask for the first time a few months ago. I had to argue and fight with him to do it, but once he did, he really enjoyed how it felt! Men can be so difficult when it comes to skin care!

My husband doesn’t use many skin products but he should. I really like the eye cream. Great info and these would make great gifts.

Were you somehow eavesdropping on my conversations with my husband?! Lol. I know you weren’t. But we were just having a conversation about skincare. We lost the bottle of sunscreen (the same as you’ve recommended. It is good stuff) and had to buy more. Now we have three bottles, but that is ok because two are going in our bug out bags. The third we will be using tomorrow when we go out. We’ve been making it a point to go out on Nathan’s days off this summer, and both of us have burnt a couple of times. Nathan has red hair, so he burns to a crisp, and I’m just paranoid about damaging my tattoo sleeve. I had to use a good scrub on his face and head in the shower last night because of peeling from his last sunburn. Thankfully he lets me do this, but only if I’m in there with him. I’m constantly amazed at how oily his face is, especially his nose. Yet he never uses a face wash. He’s one of those that think the shampoo/body wash combination takes care of everything. I’m still working on getting him to use the proper products.

My husband is fanatical with his moisturizing cleanser and his daily after-shower moisturizer. I swear he’s so much better at applying it daily (or several times a day) than I am. He doesn’t use eye cream, but I may have to get him some.

  5. Alexandra says:

This was good. I keep telling my teenage son that it’s important for him to wash his face but he doesn’t seem to think his face even gets dirty! You should have seen how shocked he was when I asked him if he at least washes his face in the shower!

  6. Subhashish Roy says:

Now that is for me after a long wait. All this while I was only sharing the beauty care regimen with my wife. I am taking a good note and would use your suggestions.

Fist of all its so interesting that its the first time I’m reading a blog post about men’s skincare routine and second of all I’ll get my partner to read this too.

  9. Lyosha says:

Skin care is very important for both genders. I like the male oriented lists that are easy to share with you better half. I find them a little too simplified but it often changes the route my husband normally takes.

  10. Scott J DeNicola says:

I like to think that I take very good care of my skin and have done so for most of my life since my teens. I have always been pretty good about using sunscreen as an adult though I wasn’t so much so when I was young. I came from the generation of baby oil for tanning. I try to wash my face every night and do use a moisturizer when needed. Mostly in the winter months when my skin dries out from the forced air heat in the house. Men have to worry about some of the same things as women. we’re just lazier.

  11. Kaye says:

I do try and make my husband apply facemasks on weekends for healthy skin. Eye cream is something we haven’t used yet. That’s one addition I can make.

Skincare routine is the most important thing be it for men or women. I’m definitely going to share this blog with my brother and my friends. Thanks for this blog

I am constantly trying to get my husband to try some face masks and follow a skin care routine, but all he does is use facewash and sunscreen when he is swimming. It is a tough task!

That’s a good routine that men should follow basis their thick skin. I’m sure to share it with my husband as he does nothing except using a cleanser.
