Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick – Rose Day Review
I have been having this in my small makeup stash for quite a long time now. I also have the shades First Love and Code Red. (Both of which I regularly use and love!) For some reason or the other, I haven’t used this lippy more often. (Maybe because I am quite new to trying deep pinks.) Wanna know if this lippy or a similar shade is going to suit your skin tone? Dive in to read my quick review on this pretty shade!
Elle 18 matte lipsticks come in this black flimsy packaging. It shuts tight so you don’t have to worry about the cap opening in your pocket or purse. The shade name and number is mentioned at the bottom of the bullet. A cartoon girl’s face gives it a teenage girly look.
I am personally not a fan of its packaging. Since I like luxe packaging more something like the Lakme 9 to 5 Lipsticks.
I like these lipsticks mainly for the shade range and quality that it offers at such cheap rates!
My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick – Rose Day
My Skin Type
Fair with a warm undertone (and I don’t have pigmented lips)
Color and Texture
The shade is deeper than hot pink. It has a buttery texture to it and hence it applies very smoothly and evenly on the lips without tugging. It moisturizes lips too so you can skip lip balm prior to application.
Elle 18 Rose Day Lipstick Swatch
I love the fragrance of all Elle 18’s lipstick. Whenever I use them I try not to bite on them! ( 😀 ) It is not strong and irritating. But very mild and intoxicating!
You only need one or two swipes and you are good to go. Even if you have very pigmented lips max you will be needing two coats and you are done! This tells that the pigmentation is really good on this one. Hence you don’t have to worry about covering the pigmented lips with your foundation first.
It lasts easily for 4 to 5 hours after which it slowly fades away. But it leaves a beautiful pink shade behind. Even after meals it transfers and fades but the shade is never completely gone from the lips. So, the leftover pink stain on the lips won’t leave you with awkward looking lips after meals!
It is not 100% matte. (I wish it was.) Nevertheless, you can make it matte by blotting out the shine with a tissue or patting some talcum powder on the lipstick. After mattifying the lipstick it kind of looks like a hot pink shade but still remains a shade deeper. So you don’t have to worry about the pigmentation part.
