These are some of the most popular drinks in not only India but I am sure in many other countries as well. These drinks are not only your simple cold drinks but they aid in weight loss and fat loss too. So it is a 2 in 1 mission- beating the summer heat while losing weight naturally! And these drinks do not require unhealthy ingredients like soda.

1. Watermelon Drink

Watermelons have a higher content of water in it. Having watermelon juice on a regular basis will not only keep you hydrated this summer but it benefits the skin as well!

Watermelon Drink Recipe

In a blender add:- 2 cups of water, 4 cups of watermelon cut in pieces (seeds removed), 0.5 cups of lemon juice and sugar to taste.

2. Masala Chass

Chass (or Chachh) also known buttermilk is made from curd. And since curd contains probiotic agents it is very beneficial for digestion and aids indigestion issues. (This summer I am enjoying chass every day! What do you like more chass or lassi? Well, I like both! Can’t pick one! 😛 )

In a vessel add:- 1 cup of chilled curd, 3/4 teaspoon jeera (cumin), 0.5 teaspoons black pepper powder, 2 cups of chilled water and finally salt to taste.

In a vessel add:- 2 cups chilled water, 1 cup chilled curd and 1 teaspoon of masala chass powder.

3. Nimbu Pani (Lemonade)

I am definitely seeing this on the streets more these days whenever I head out. But I prefer having nimbu pani made at home since I don’t like to add soda which is also not healthy for our teeth.

Having lemon water on a regular basis boosts metabolism thus helping in fat loss. It will also bring out the natural glow in your skin.

Nimbu Pani Recipe

In a vessel add:- 2 cups chilled water, 1 lemon juice, 3/4th teaspoon black pepper powder, roughly chopped pudina (mint leaves, optional) and sugar and salt to taste.

4. Rose Sharbat

It not only cools down your body drastically but its wonderful aroma uplifts your senses as well! (Sounds perfect as a refreshing drink doesn’t it?)

In a vessel add:- 2 cups of chilled water, 1 to 2 tablespoons of rooh afza (rose syrup, depending upon your liking), juice of half lemon, and sugar to taste.

5. Cucumber Drink

These days I am munching on cucumber salad with both the meals (Lunch and dinner!) It cools down the body and also has many skin and health benefits!

In a blender add:- 1.5 cups cucumber cut in pieces, a handful of pudina (mint leaves, optional), 1 lemon juice, 2 tablespoons honey or add as per your taste preference, and 2 cups of chilled water.

    I love these cooling drinks. The cucumber drink stands out for me because I make a very simple drink with it – I just slice the cucumbers thinly and place in water and drink throughout the day.
