How To Pick The Right Glasses Frame For Your Face Shape
Need to buy glasses and confused about which frames to get? Worry not, I got you covered in this post! I remember buying my first glasses and how not-so-happy I was with it! You ask, why? Simply because the frame did not suit me at all! But now with years of experience and with changing face shapes (Yes our face shape changes with age!) I have learned some points to keep in mind. So, choosing the right glasses frame is very important! Not only from a trend perspective but also you have to pick the one which compliments your face shape. Also the right frames according to your face shape to balance your look. So in this post, we will discuss which eyeglasses you should opt for according to your face shape and some tips to keep in mind.
Right glasses frame for different face shapes
Before we move any further you should first know what is your particular face shape. The main tips to keep in mind is- the rounder and softer the face, try angular frames. And in case of angular face shapes try rounder and softer frames. There are a bunch of different eyeglasses frames to choose from. And with the coming trends and styles, it may confuse you more! So let’s first find out what is your face shape and accordingly the suitable glasses frames.
Oblong face shape
An oblong face is longer than the width with softer jawline and forehead area. To balance out an oblong face go for bigger frame glasses. The frames should be softer and rounder at the edges. Just like the one shared above! Such frames will take attention away from the long length of your face.
Round face shape
Round face is basically a full face. It somewhat resembles a circle. (Or laddu!) The jawline is also soft and curved. To give an illusion of some dimension and sharpness, go for glasses with rectangular frames. Choosing rectangular frames for round face will give an illusion of having a toned and oval face shape.
Square face shape
A square face is the one where it is proportional in width and length. You can also find a strong jawline. Since there is already a lot of sharpness we need to balance it out with softness. And to do that go for glasses with softer edges like circular frames. So choosing circular or more rounded frames will hide the sharpness of a square face shape.
Rectangle face shape
You may get confused between a square and a rectangle face shape. Although it is quite easy to differentiate! Simple- a rectangular face shape is longer in length, unlike the square one, which will look all equal in proportion. And even here you will find a strong jawline. So, to soften and balance out this look we should opt for bigger frame glasses with rounded edges. Do not confuse it with an oblong face shape since it is also longer in length. The simple trick is to observe the sharpness around the edges. If the face is longer and angular then it is a rectangle!
Diamond face shape
This is quite rare to spot but very easy to tell! A diamond face shape is the one where one has a narrow forehead and narrow chin. You can find high cheekbones too. To balance out this face shape try cat eye or oval frame glasses. This will give an illusion of having oval face shape.
Heart face shape
Some do get confused in differentiating between a diamond and a heart face shape. Well, it isn’t that difficult! A heart face shape is the one which has a broad forehead and has a narrow chin. Unlike a diamond face shape, see, easy? Or, remember a strawberry! So to choose the right glasses frame for a heart face shape, try small glasses with thin frames.
Oval face shape
If you are an oval you are lucky! (You will know in a moment why I said that!) If your forehead, cheeks, and jawline are all in proportion, then your face shape is an oval. However, do not confuse it with the oblong or round. Remember, oblong is longer in length. And round face shape is err… round! So if you have oval face shape you can try any frames. Seriously, you can choose any frames you like! Since there is no wrong or right glasses frame for your face shape. (That’s why I called you lucky!)
