How to Take Care of Feet in Summer
Summer is just around the corner and I am sure many of you are preparing for it. (Well, summer is already begun in Mumbai!) Most of you may have already started getting summer ready by changing your skin and hair care products. Today I bring to you some practical foot care tips to get your feet summer ready.
Top 5 Ways on How to Take Care of Feet in Summer
Sunscreen on the face? Check. Neck? Check. Arms? Check. Feet? Hmm.
We tend to ignore our feet when it comes to sunscreen application. Why? Simply because we don’t have that habit installed in us from the very beginning. Then this is how we end up with footwear marks on our feet. You must not skip sunscreen application on foot. Especially when making a visit to places like beaches, water parks, swimming pools, etc. Check out Neutrogena Sunblock with 50+ SPF and it is waterproof and sweatproof too!
Also, be very thoughtful about which footwear you chose to wear. Skip on the flip flops!
Aloe Vera Gel
We all know how aloe vera gel is very beneficial for our skin, hair, and health. But did you know that it heals sunburns and blisters too? Dabbing some aloe gel on blister or sunburned skin heals the inflammation and reduces redness. You can also apply aloe gel on feet after a long time sun exposure. I remember my grandma telling me how they would use aloe vera plant gel on burnt patients in hospitals.
I have one of the best aloe vera gel recommendations for you. It is The Faceshop Jeju Aloe Vera Gel. Do check it out!
If you want smooth and soft feet this summer then you should definitely exfoliate your feet with a pumice stone. It is both cost and time effective. You can easily squeeze in one exfoliating session per week no matter how busy schedule you have. Nothing exfoliates the hard skin on feet better than a pumice stone. I have been currently using Vega Pumice Stone. Do check it out!
Moisturize your feet at night with a light to slightly heavy moisturizer. After all, our skin needs to be moisturized daily to stay nourished and supple. Don’t forget to wear socks post moisturizing. You can use normal cold cream or even Vaseline petroleum jelly would do. If you are looking for a cream specifically formulated for foot care then do check out the Himalaya Foot Cream.
DIY Foot Soak
A safe pedicure is suggested for both feet and nails care. Don’t have the time or can’t afford one? Don’t worry. This DIY results in post-pedicure like feet just in the comforts of your home. All you need to add is 1 tablespoon Epsom salt and 1/2 tablespoon baking soda in a small tub. You can also burn your favorite incense stick or candle for rejuvenating your senses. Or you can also add your favorite essential oil in the tub.
Allow this DIY foot soak to do its magic for 30 minutes. This solution breaks down the dead skin cells and removes all the grime and dirt from the skin and nails while you catch up with your favorite shows!
