No woman, no matter how much time she has on her hands, can pull off these extensive and time-consuming regimens, not to mention that keeping up with them takes a huge toll on your wallet. The truth of the matter is, you don’t need all those things – you don’t have to spend a million to look like a million. You just need to learn and implement a list of beauty hacks that will not only make you look amazing but will also save you chunks of time that would be better spent elsewhere, so let’s begin.
Practice makes perfect
Mornings have a way of turning against us and it seems that when we’re in a hurry, that darn clock is ticking faster than it should. Getting ready to leave your house in the morning entails not only getting dressed, but also putting some makeup on to look polished and presentable. Now, it is possible to cut down on the makeup time, you just need a bit of practice.
Mornings are not a time when you want to experiment – learn what works for you and stick to it during your morning routine. An easy to apply foundation, a touch of your go-to blush that can also serve as eye shadow, and that shade of lipstick that is always incredibly flattering for your skin tone. Find what works for you, and leave the ‘experimental’ shades and hues for a different time. Once you’ve mastered your everyday routine you’ll be able to have your morning coffee in peace because makeup will only take 10 minutes to do.
When life gives you lemons
You don’t have to make endless batches of lemonade, but you do have to bear the importance of hydration in mind. Regular water intake (8 glasses minimum) isn’t only highly beneficial for your metabolism and overall health but also for the plumpness and health of your skin. Prepare a batch of lemon water and drink a glass before you head off to work. According to Health Line, lemon is full of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from the damaging free radicals. An additional incentive to drink lemon water, and water in general is the fact that an abundance of water helps reduce that pesky cellulite, and that’s always welcome.
In order to avoid pricey treatments to enhance the appearance of your skin or deal with skin issues when they’ve already present, nip it in the bud and just maintain the health of your skin so there’s nothing to repair. Hygiene comes first, so always remove your makeup. Take a cue from skincare minimalists and adopt an effective three-step skincare routine. All you need is a cleanser, a face wash and a retinol cream. This amazing vitamin A derivative helps with collagen production while you get your beauty sleep. When the morning comes your skin won’t require anything more than a splash of water and a touch of moisturizer. Minimalists are definitely onto something, and this simple morning/evening regimen seems to be working like a charm.
The ‘rescue me’ product
There are nights when you come home exhausted and all you want is to lie down. There’s no way you have the strength to wash your hair. Morning comes and you are not happy with what you see in the mirror, and there’s no time to wash and style it now. That is why you should always have dry shampoo in your bathroom. It cleanses and provides extra volume in two minutes and you can walk out that door, appear at the office and no one will even guess you didn’t have time to wash.
Use your Saturday
If your hair is damaged, that makes styling and taming all the more difficult. It’s always wise to pay a visit to your stylist on your day off and get the treatment you need. The keratin treatment is known to do wonders at repairing damaged hair, and if there are ends that are beyond salvation, just trim a bit. When your hair is healthy, styling it in the morning takes virtually no time at all. You should also have a few go-to hair products which protect your hair from heat styling tools. Schwarzkopf Professional Repair Serum will both repair your hair and offer heat protection.
Lashes for days
If the beauty gods haven’t bestowed you with full, long, luscious lashes, there is definitely a way to work around that. Lash extensions are a wonderful way to get the lashes that you’ve always wanted to have. Not only will you look stunning, but you’ll also be free of mascara clumps, the mess you create around the eyes that takes forever to clean, and you surely don’t have the time to deal with that on a daily basis. The best part is, they’re water resistant, so you can just treat them as your own.
