Yogurt Benefits For Skin + DIY Yogurt Skin Care Routine
Hellow, beauties! 🙂 I am back with another DIY post! So this month has started getting pretty cold. Even Mumbai’s weather has turned from hot to cold. I love this climate! But my skin has different thoughts! It went flaky, red and more sensitive than before! So these days I have been following simple yogurt skin care routine to combat stretchy, sensitive and flaky skin. And also to maintain a healthy radiant skin. So in this post, I’ll share some awesome yogurt benefits and a simple yogurt DIY skincare routine!
Yogurt Benefits For Skin
Yogurt is loaded with nutrients like- lactic acid, zinc, B vitamins & calcium.
- It has anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and antioxidant properties, which makes skin soft and supple.
- It is also believed to have de-tanning abilities.
- Adding yogurt to your skin care routine and following this regime regularly imparts a healthy glow to the skin.
Simple DIY Yogurt Skin Care
This routine is very simple using all the ingredients straight from your kitchen! It is quite easy-peasy to make and to use. And the results are also quick and amazing! I would suggest everyone follow this especially if you are experiencing extremely dry, flaky, and dull skin. It is also beneficial for tanned and sun burned skin. However, the only complain you will have is from the smell! So I suggest for fragrance add few drops of your favorite essential oil. I suggest lavender essential oil if you have.
Note- If you are allergic to dairy products I suggest you perform a patch test first.
Plain Yogurt For Cleansing
Yes, as simple as that sounds! You can use plain yogurt to cleanse your skin. Especially if you have dry and sensitive skin and face washes are irritating your skin. Yogurt will gently cleanse your skin and will not irritate it. It will soothe any irritations and after you are done rinsing, you will notice that your skin looks clean and radiant!
You will only need a teaspoon of yogurt. Then with the help of your fingertips massage it well on your skin. Once you are done, first rinse your face with warm water then follow with cold water. If you only use normal tap water to rinse then you may not like the slightly slimy feeling on your skin, especially when your skin is combination or oily. So follow the warm water-cold water step.
Yogurt & Flour As Scrub
All you need is 1 teaspoon of yogurt and 1 teaspoon of flour. I use wheat flour. Mix it well and the consistency will be quite thick. Yogurt and flour is a smooth and gentle exfoliating scrub. And it is suitable for all skin types! Scrub with your fingertips and follow this 1-2 times a week. Do a mini facial massage as you scrub with this paste.
Yogurt & Honey As Mask
Ahh… this has become one of my favorite masks to use in winters! All I need is yogurt & honey and a good glowing, an all-natural mask is created! Just apply it with your fingertips or brush, however, you like. And let it stay for a good 10-15 minutes. It is super moisturizing and will take care of your dry, stretchy, flaky and a bunch of other minor skin issues as well! Including minor breakouts, if you are experiencing any. I like to apply this every night and my skin is happy! By the way, if you are a honey lover like me, then do check out this post- 7 Homemade Honey Face Masks For Clear Skin It is just for you! 🙂
